Following the pageant and inspection of the combattant armies, hand-to-hand fight on land is displayed by warriors, and the ferocity of contemporary warfare is evoked by battles on water. The highlight of the event is the reenactment of the attack against the main gate, in which the crucial role was played by the banger (the petard, then called the patara), a contemporary invention. In the meantime, in and outside the castle walls everybody can experience the more peaceful weekdays of the stormy past by tasting the foods and drinks of the Renaissance world and by gaining an insight into the fashion and music of the age.
