Our most popular events include operetta galas, musicals, theatrical performances, brass band music, majorette teams and various exhibitions. Each year, the first festival event is the 'feast of reaping' where all local children and grown-ups march to the nearest wheat field after attending the solemn high mass. The reaping teams illustrate how our great grandfathers were reaping the harvest by hand and how our great grandmothers were gathering the wheat into bundles and were weaving them into wheat sheaves. Reminiscing the past is complete with the reaping ball held in the evening where guests can celebrate and dance until the small hours. The one-month series of event is finished off with the 'feast of the new bread' on 20 August closing with the blessing of the new bread and fireworks.
